How to install a swivel trailer tongue jack

Bolting a swivel jack to the trailer tongue and using it.

Harborwright sells the part only — we don't install it. These are general steps; your boat and the maker's manual come first. If you're not sure, have a marine shop fit it.

Safety: Hitch the trailer to the tow vehicle or chock the wheels while you mount it, stay within the rated load, and always swing the jack up before towing.

Steps

  1. With the trailer hitched or chocked, pick a spot on the tongue behind the coupler where the swung-up jack clears the tow vehicle.
  2. Mount the bracket around the tongue with the included bolts and lock nuts, and tighten them securely.
  3. Fit the crank handle.
  4. Pull the pin, swing the jack down until it locks, and crank clockwise to raise or counter-clockwise to lower.
  5. Before towing, retract it, pull the pin and swing it up until it locks. Recheck the bolts regularly.

Follow the instructions that come in the box for your exact model first.
