How to install an adjustable seat pedestal

Mounting a height-adjustable pedestal and seat to the deck.

Harborwright sells the part only — we don't install it. These are general steps; your boat and the maker's manual come first. If you're not sure, have a marine shop fit it.

Safety: Fasten into solid deck structure (add a backing plate on thin decks) — a loose pedestal can throw you at speed.

Steps

  1. Pick the spot and check underneath for fuel tanks, hoses and wiring before drilling.
  2. Set the base plate down and mark the pre-drilled holes.
  3. Drill, bed the holes in marine sealant, and fasten the base with stainless steel screws or bolts (not included).
  4. Mount your seat (and swivel, if separate) to the top plate with stainless screws (not included).
  5. Adjust as the VEVOR manual shows: height with the pull-out handle, rotation with the knob, slide with the lift handle. Lock every adjustment before you sit.

Follow the maker's manual for your exact model first — it's linked with each part below.
