Harborwright sells the part only — we don't install it. These are general steps; your boat and the maker's manual come first. If you're not sure, have a marine shop fit it.
Safety: Fasten only into solid joists or concrete, never drywall alone, and have two people lift boats on and off. Use a stable ladder.
Steps
- Find the joists (or check the concrete) where the rack will hang, with room to lift the boats up and off.
- Mark the holes and drill them to the size and depth in the instructions. VEVOR's manual for this rack specifies 10 mm holes, 60 mm deep.
- Hammer the sleeve anchors in, then bolt the rack up with the included hardware and tighten evenly.
- Set the arms at the height that suits your boats and lock them with the pins.
- Test with a load before trusting it with a boat. VEVOR's manual says to hang a 300 lb test weight. Then lift each boat onto the padded arms with a second person.
Follow the maker's manual for your exact model first — it's linked with each part below.
