How to install kayak outrigger stabilizers

Mounting inflatable outrigger floats to a kayak or canoe.

Harborwright sells the part only — we don't install it. These are general steps; your boat and the maker's manual come first. If you're not sure, have a marine shop fit it.

Safety: Outriggers add stability but aren't a flotation or life-saving device — always wear a life jacket.

Steps

  1. VEVOR notes these are only for kayaks or boats with mounting holes. Check your boat before you start.
  2. Inflate both floats through the valves.
  3. Join the sidekick arms to the connecting rod and set the length (81.5–94 in) with the pre-drilled holes.
  4. Fix the pole holder to the boat with the included screws, pass the arms through, and lock the ferrules.
  5. Attach the floats to the arm ends, level them, and test close to shore before heading out.

Follow the instructions that come in the box for your exact model first.
