Harborwright sells the part only — we don't install it. These are general steps; your boat and the maker's manual come first. If you're not sure, have a marine shop fit it.
Steps
- Clean the deck: remove old mats, wax and grease, wipe with isopropyl alcohol, and let it dry completely.
- Make paper or cardboard templates, trace them onto the foam, and cut with a sharp utility knife. The V-grooves help you cut straight.
- Dry-fit every piece before peeling any backing.
- Peel back a few inches of backing, line the piece up and press it down, then peel the rest gradually while pressing as you go.
- Roll the whole piece firmly with a hand roller, especially the edges, and give the adhesive a day before heavy use.
- Textured or non-skid surfaces may need an adhesion promoter first.
Follow the maker's manual for your exact model first — it's linked with each part below.
